I strive to not only capture likeness, but the emotional complexity involved as well. Among the joy of our animal relationships is also dedication, backstory, longing, protection, and many years of love. With black and white portraits, I represent all these complicated stories as little lines and pen marks. Relationships as meaningful as the ones made with animals are like building up little dots on a page: each moment with them is strikingly wonderful, yet is only a small bit of how enriched our lives have become.

Overtime, our moments and marks, pawprints and footsteps, continue to overlap.
